The African American Studies Department at New York City College of Technology (Citytech) – CUNY is searching for adjunct instructors to teach the following courses in Spring 2017:

AFR 1311: African American/Caribbean Music
Mondays and Wednesdays
1:00pm – 2:15pm

AFR 1466: Modern African American History
Wednesdays
6:00pm – 8:30pm

AFR 2250: Black Women in Literature
Mondays
6:00pm – 8:30pm

AFR 1130: Africana Folklore
Tuesdays and Thursdays
10:00 – 11:15am
and
Mondays and Wednesdays
11:30am – 12:45pm

QUALIFICATIONS
MA or PhD in hand in African American Studies and/or other related fields. The department seeks candidates with some teaching experience in the related areas of African American Studies at the college level. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver instruction for undergraduate courses. Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary approaches to instruction. AFR expects all of its faculty to employ interactive instructional models as well as digital tools.
