The Program in African and African American Studies at Dartmouth College invites applications for a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal, at the level of Visiting Professor (Open Rank) beginning Fall 2017. The Program seeks a broad range of interdisciplinary candidates with expertise in African Studies or Caribbean Studies. Disciplinary focus is open but preference will be given to those with a background in historical approaches, broadly conceived. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research as in teaching in a liberal arts context. Responsibilities include teaching core courses and courses in fields of specialization/interests as well as student advising. Candidates should have received a Ph.D. by June 2017.
